Tony Kane Testimonial Preview
Uploaded Friday, 5th Aug, 2022 at 15:27

HAVING confirmed the date and venue for the long awaited Testimonial match for Tony Kane, we look ahead to the game.
The game would have been due last summer, however covid restrictions on supporter numbers saw it postponed for a year. In the meantime Tony moved to Dundela, but now returns as a true Sky Blue to take on former club Cliftonville to celebrate his long service at the Showgrounds.
Former Blackburn Rover Kane was signed by Roy Walker in July 2011 and went on to make 358 appearances in a career spanning ten years at the Showgrounds. Despite being mainly in defensive positions, he managed to score 50 goals in that time. Kane is ninth in the list of appearance holders in the history of the club and also holds the club record for the most amount of Irish Cup matches.

Make your way to the Showgrounds on Saturday to show him appreciation for everything he gave to the Club during his time with United.
