Lisburn Distillery Match Preview

Sports Bond success across the sea
Uploaded Monday, 14th Aug, 2023 at 06:21

WE almost had a third week in a row without a Ballymena Town winner. However Darren Reynolds (A8728) ensured that would not happen when he became a £50 major winner on the agency of Patricia Thompson.
Darren who lives in the Demesne Avenue area has been a previous winner but that was a few years ago. Congratulations to Darren and thanks for your support.

Now uniquely we had two winners in Great Britain this week in Scotland we had a major £50 win for Andrew Downie (B3413) who pays by Standing order. Andrew has enjoyed success before at both major and minor level so could he become a jackpot winner on the next occasion. From Ayrshire to Co Durham in England we had a £10 minor winner with player sponsor John Pogue. Now John was a major winner at the end of last year and generously donated his winning cheque to a charitable cause. John has already asked for this also to be given to a charitable cause and has chosen to add to the amount raised by two Sports Bond members Jackson Currie and Dean Campbell who had a walking challenge in the Lake District for Macmillan Cancer. Nice one John.

The other two minor winners were both lady members with Christine Holmes (A0682) on the agency of Maurice Anderson and Kim Cochrane (A0693) on the agency of her friend Janice Crawford. Both have been previous winners.

The jackpot numbers of 7, 8, 15, and 22 were not allocated and the jackpot is £450 for this week.

First Score
In the Community Shield First Score we have had two winners both purchased their scratchcards in local hostelries. At the Horse and Jockey, the holder of the winning scratchcard of 77mins was Suzy Dickey. Suzy picks up £30. At Charlie's the winner was Paul Storey who also picks up £30. Paul has been a previous winner on First Score on special games. Thanks to Francine at the Horse and Jockey and Charlie Havelin at Charlie's For their great support.

At the home match with Crusaders on Friday evening the winning time was 16 minutes and the winner was Gary Walsh of Broughshane who picked up £30. Gary like Bobby Mclaughlin last week are now on the road to a possible Season Ticket if they have 3 wins at Irish League or Cup games this season.

This week is a huge week for First Score as they will be on sale at Larne on Tuesday, at home to Linfield on Friday evening and there is a special First Score for the FIFA Women's World Cup final on Sunday. All cards are priced at £1.
