Small agents success on Sports Bond
Uploaded Monday, 16th Jan, 2023 at 09:52

THIS was the week for success for some of our smaller agencies, who are vital to the Sports Bond network. In Portglenone Margaret Downey had a £50 winner with James McCarry (A0463).
Margaret has a friends and family agency for Sports Bond but as we know she also contributes to all other ballots and First Score. In particular her recent contribution to the New Years Draw was truly amazing. Congratulations to James and a huge thank you to Margaret.

In Cloughmills Robert Logan runs a small but active agency from his agricultural business store. Most of Robert's agency are well known Ballymena United supporters and this week Peter Gillespie (A3258) a member of the Sky Blue supporting Gillespie family was a £50 major winner. Congratulations to Peter and thanks to Robert for his great support.

Likewise back in Ballymena the small agency at Charlie's had a £10 winner and it was none other than the proprietor himself Charlie Havelin (B6223). Thanks to Charlie who participates in all other ballots and was a big supporter of the World Cup First Score.

The other two £10 winners were Olive McClean (A2448) on the agency of Maurice Anderson and Linda Stewart (A2403) on the agency of Tommy Patterson. Both are first time winners.

No jackpot was won with the numbers 3, 12, 19, and 20 so the jackpot for this week is £350.

Agents News
Recently Co Durham based Sports Bond member John Pogue was a £50 major winner. However John requested the the money be donated to a 'charitable cause For needy people in the Ballymena area'. After consideration a school in the Ballymena area which provides breakfast for children was chosen and the money was donated and gratefully received. John Pogue and his friends are long standing Sports Bond members. Mountfield Quality Products of which John is the proprietor is the sponsor of Ballymena captain Joshua Kelly. John was in Northern Ireland for a few days in September and hopes to return soon to take in a Ballymena United fixture. However as a season ticket holder at Newcastle United he is enjoying a wonderful season.

Spare a thought for Sports Bond Member Richard Lawson. Richard had secured a ticket for the North London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal. Richard, a huge Spurs fan, unfortunately suffered a defeat but he had fulfilled a long held ambition to attend the fixture.
First Score
Another cancellation at the Oval, so the next first score will be at Windsor on Saturday.

We seem to have missed a winner of the First Score at Coleraine on Boxing day and that was Broughshane supporter David Craig. Well done to David a big First Score supporter. Still no winner has been found for the Irish Cup match at Taylors Avenue. We still await a claim for 69 minutes.
