Cliftonville Match Preview

Co Durham winner on Sports Bond
Uploaded Monday, 6th Dec, 2021 at 10:07

AMONGST our Sports Bond membership we have a number of members overseas from Gibson Glazing in Alberta to Jonathan Anderson in Tayside. However in Co Durham we have a group of no less than 4 members!
John Pogue from Consett in Co Durham has been a player sponsor for some years. Currently he is the player sponsor of vice captain Joshua Kelly. John has family ties through his late mother with the Grange/Randalstown area. John, with friends Ian Young and Keith Soulsby, came over for the League Cup Final with Linfield in February 2019. After that visit the three friends along with another Tony Lester all joined Sports Bond. This week Ian Young (A0097) was a £50 major winner. Ian is a retired director of a roofing company and like the others is a keen fisherman. Unlike John who is a season ticket holder at Newcastle, Ian is a Sunderland fan, however both are united in their support of Ballymena united. We are delighted to have them on board. Let's hope for more wins for our Durham friends. Another first time winner was Samuel Mahood (A2662) who was also a £50 major winner. Samuel, originally from the Carrickfergus area, has been working in Wrightbus for over 20 years. Congratulations to Samuel on his first win.

Our third first time winner was Lorna Forrester (A3397) of Glenwood in Ahoghill. Lorna, a member of Maurice Anderson agency, joined after direct canvassing a few years back and we are pleased she is now off the mark with a £10 minor win. Our other £10 minor winner was a £50 major winner in May 2019 and that was Ballymena united supporter Nigel Kyle (A3397). Nigel lives in Coleraine and is into park runs in the past few years. On Saturday he completed a 10k run in Ormeau park before bringing his wife Laura and children Amelia Rose and Rhys to see the Sky Blues at Solitude. Well done Nigel.

This week's Jackpot is £950 and if not won we will see a guaranteed £1000 jackpot that must be won the following week. What a Christmas present for some Sports Bond member. The numbers 1, 7, 25, and 27 saw no jackpot allocated. Our last two £1000 jackpots have both been on the agency of Alastair Shaw. Could he complete a hat trick of £1000 wingers or could a £1000 Jackpot be on its way to Co Durham?
First Score
The winning time on Saturday at Solitude was 68 minutes and the winning card was held by Roy McKay of Ahoghill. Roy is a regular supporter of First Score and picked up £30 for his winning time. Next First Score will be back at Solitude for the BetMcLean League Cup semi final.
New Year Draw
This years seasonal draw is a New Year's day draw on January 1st at the match with Portadown. First prize is £200 from Sports Bond to celebrate their 20th anniversary. A bonus £50 will be paid if won by a Sports Bond member. Our good friends John Pye Auctions have generously donated a very unique 2nd prize. A mobile Globe drinks trolley stocked by an array of premium spirits. Sky blue supporter Tony McCallum of TM Flooring has kindly donated a £100 voucher to be spent on any of his products. Fourth prize is a meal for two at the Castle Kitchen and Bar at Galgorm sponsored by the Galgorm Spa and Golf resort. Their are a host of other prizes in this fantastic draw. Tickets go into distribution this week. Support the club by purchasing or selling a book of ballots.
Curtis Toyota Promotion
The winner of the Curtis Toyota promotion was Ballymena United supporter Richard Deacon. Richard was presented with a signed Ballymena United shirt by Stephen Smyth of Curtis Toyota.
