Supporters return to home games

BALLYMENA United are delighted to announce the return of supporters to home games for the 2021/22 season.
Following a recent council risk assessment of the Showgrounds against current government guidelines, and in consultation with the football club, it has been agreed to work our way up to 60% of our normal capacity, and keep this in constant review as the season progresses.
Chairman John Taggart explains, "understandably our supporters have been anxious for news of the season ahead and we're delighted that we'll be in a position to welcome everyone back from the very start. We have advocated for our supporters, and Mid and East Antrim Council have been very receptive to the wishes and needs of the club and the fans and we're all working to the same vision to have the Showgrounds ready to bring back the roar for our players.
The ability to have a capacity of 60% across both stands allows us ample space to bring in our normal match day attendance, and we anticipate that this will include the return of away supporters also. We will work on a match by match basis with the council to look at maximum numbers and segregation needs for away fans, but for now we're delighted at being able to commit to the return of our home support."
Further details regarding match day tickets and stadium protocols will be announced soon.
