| Match Description: Ballymena United dropped their first points at home after throwing away a two goal lead against Ards. The Sky Blues opened the scoring on 24 minutes when McCullough found Mullan down the right and he made a great run to cut the ball back for McQuiston who tapped home. He turned provider on 51 minutes when his pass found Malone who shot in off the near post for number two. With seven minutes remaining Ards came back into it when Billy McCoubrey volleyed home a Roy Walker flick on; and in the last two minutes Jim Campbell struck the equaliser for the visitors. |

| Match Description: United took the lead in the second half of what had been a fairly even tie. Tony McCall's corner was floated in and Gerry Mullan was at the far post to head home easily. With five minutes remaining Glenavon grabbed an equaliser when a long ball fell to Martin Malone, brother of United striker Paul, and he drove the ball past Brian White. However United got the winner straight away when another McCall corner was headed home by Davy Neill with only three minutes left on the clock. |
