Back at the turn of the 20th Century, during the early years of football on the island of Ireland; games against the English, Scottish and Welsh leagues were commonplace - and were held in high regard, second only to full international recognition. |
|
These games sadly faded in popularity towards the end of the millennium, but have returned in 2007 with the UEFA International Challenge Trophy - which allows the best players under the age of 23 in league football to compete against each other. |
