BALLYMENA United earned a hard fought win over Ballinamallard United at Ferney Park on Saturday afternoon, with goals coming from both Kane's.
The opening goal came on 12 minutes as Tony Kane fired home from the penalty spot after Cathair Friel was brought down in the 18-yard box. On 20 minutes Adam Lecky had to come on to replace Declan Carville who had picked up a niggle.
Ballinamallard levelled the score in the 39th minute with a low strike into the bottom corner flying past Jordan Williamson.
After a raft of subs at half-time, Kenny Kane came on to replace Adam Lecky in the 80th minute and soon made his mark, latching onto some good work by Jonathan Addis and Ross Lavery to fire home his first goal for United and secure a 2-1 win.
Ballymena United host the Manchester United Under-23 in an exhibition challenge game as part of the STATSports SuperCupNI international youth tournament on Monday evening, kicking off at 7:30pm.
