Just 3 minutes later and it was Jim Ervin who grabbed the second goal after some great play. McCloskey had a chance himself 15 minutes but his acrobatic scissor kick came off the post. Limavady pulled a goal back on 22 minutes through Richard King.

A raft of subs seen virtually a different United side take to the field for the second half, including a debut for new signing Conor Brennan. On 56 minutes Shevlin blocked the Limavady keepers' clearance but it ricocheted off the crossbar. Moments later Johnny McMurray managed to get a shot off which was deflected past the hapless keeper and into the net to make it 4-1 to the visitors.

10 minutes later and it was trialist who had a chance, his header being cleared off the line.

At the end of the game Shevlin was fouled in the box, Tony Kane stepping up to the mark to send the keeper away and secure a 6-1 win. It was an impressive day for the Sky Blues, who wore their black 3rd kit, scoring 6 goals through 6 different players.
