BALLYMENA United lost to two late goals against Harland & Wolff Welders at Tillysburn in this pre-season friendly.
The first half was largely dull, Tony Kane coming closest to a goal but the Welders keeper managed to touch his fierce shot onto the bar and away to safety.
The changes were rung at half time with 6 starting players being replaced, and Cathair Friel had been replaced by Willie Faulkner shortly before the break, so it was virtually a completely different team that took to the pitch for the second half.
Both sides had a few chances during the second period but it was the Welders who struck twice near the end for the win, Ross Arthurs scoring with 5 minutes to go after a simple ball across the six yard box and Davy Rainey securing victory with a 90th minute goal.
The Sky Blues travel to Paisley Park, West Circular Road, Belfast to face Albert Foundry on Tuesday night, kicking off at 7:30pm.
