BALLYMENA United ran out 5-2 winners at Wilgar Park, goals coming from Darren Henderson, Eoin Kane, Nathan Hanley and Leroy Millar (2).
Darren Henderson scored in the 16th minute after going 1 on 1 against Duns keeper Jonny Sergeant. Only 4 minutes later and Eoin Kane was on the score sheet as he volleyed home from a good Kyle Mackie cross. Dundela pulled one back on 26 minutes through Matty Kerr, but Nathan Hanley scored from a direct free kick on the half hour mark to put 2 goals between the sides.
5 minutes into the second half Leroy Millar stretched to get onto the end of a cross from Darren Henderson and fired home. 2 minutes later United had a penalty but Sergeant saved well from Cathair Friel. On 64 minutes Jake McNeill came on to replace Eoin Kane, then 2 minutes later Kyle Beggs and Trialist 2 replaced Kyle Mackie and Leroy Millar.
With less than 10 minutes left in the game Ben Roy grabbed another goal for the home side, but Leroy Millar had the last say, swinging in a lovely curling finish with 3 minutes left.
Next Saturday United make the trip to East Belfast to face Knockbreda FC in another pre-season friendly, kicking off at 3:00pm.
