This season the Amber Army have started with a 3-0 defeat in their first league game away to Crusaders, a 2-1 home defeat to Larne in their second, a 2-0 victory away to Institute and a 1-0 home defeat to Cliftonville last Saturday. They were knocked out of the BetMcLean League Cup at the second round stage, losing 5-3 to Premier Intermediate Side Bangor after extra-time.
Ballymena United:
United sit 7th in the league on 4 points after a draw at Dungannon Swifts, a win over Larne and a defeat to Glentoran last Saturday, but have a game in hand over 9 of the 12 teams in the Danske Bank Premiership.

They defeated Newington YC 3-0 in the BetMcLean League Cup on Tuesday evening, second half goals coming from Ross Lavery, Andrew McGrory and Cathair Friel.
