Since the last meeting, the Bannsiders have defeated Newry City 4-1 away from home in the league, lost 1-0 against Institute at the Brandywell, were knocked out of the Tennent's Irish Cup at the semi-final stage with a 2-0 defeat to Crusaders at The Oval, lost 4-2 to Cliftonville at Solitude and, last weekend, done the Sky Blues a favour by holding Glenavon to a 1-1 draw at Mourneview Park.

They currently sit 6th in the Danske Bank Premiership, 6 points behind Cliftonville with just 3 games left. European Qualification is their aim, and the only way they can manage this will be through the play-offs at the end of the season.
Ballymena United:
In the same period United have lost 2-0 at home to Glentoran, won 6-1 home to Institute, lost 1-2 to Warrenpoint Town and 1-0 to Linfield at home and, last weekend, grabbed what could be a vital point with a 1-1 draw at Solitude against Cliftonville.

Sitting 2nd in the league table, the Sky Blues have automatic European Qualification in their own hands, but know the last 3 league games will be incredibly tough.
