Irish FA grants extension of 2019-20 Irish League season until 31 July

BALLYMENA United host league leaders Linfield in the semi-finals of the Toals Co Antrim Shield on Tuesday evening.
The last time the sides met was a league tie at the Showgrounds, United winning 2-1 through goals from Jonathan Addis and Leroy Millar, moving above Linfield to top the Danske Bank Premiership table.

After the defeat to United last month, Linfield have went on to defeat Crusaders 4-1 at Seaview, overcome Dungannon Swifts 1-0 after extra-time at Stangmore Park in the BetMcLean League Cup semi-final, draw at home to Glenavon, had a Boxing Day win over Glentoran, a 2-0 win away to Cliftonville followed by a 2-0 win away to Ards. On Saturday past they secured a place in the sixth round of the Tennent's Irish Cup with 1-0 win over Ballyclare Comrades.

In this seasons Toals Co Antrim Shield, they ran out 2-1 winners over PSNI at home and Glentoran by the same score in the quarter-finals.
Ballymena United:
United were in the middle of a club record 19 game unbeaten run when they beat the Blues at the Showgrounds last month, but a draw at the Showgrounds with Coleraine on Boxing Day and a defeat by the Crues at Seaview has allowed Linfield back into the top spot in the league table. The Sky Blues beat Dundela at Wilgar Park on Saturday afternoon to set up a home tie against Portadown in the sixth round of the Tennent's Irish Cup.

United eased through the previous stages of the shield to reach this semi-final, hammering Harland & Wolff Welders 5-0 and Ballyclare Comrades 3-0, both at the Showgrounds.

If the scores are level after 90 minutes, 2 additional 10 minute periods of extra-time will be played. If the scores are level after extra-time, the match will be settled by a penalty shootout.
