BALLYMENA United are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they host Ards in the Danske Bank Premiership.
The last time the sides met was in the quarter-finals of the BetMcLean League Cup when an incredibly tight battle was only ended when a Jude Winchester shot took a huge deflection past Ards keeper Jason Mooney deep into added time.
Latest results v Ards (all league unless stated):
Ards 0-1 Ballymena United, Bangor Fuels Arena, 13th November 2018. (BetMcLean League Cup QF)
Ards 1-2 Ballymena United, Bangor Fuels Arena, 18th August 2018. Att: 602

Ards 1-0 Ballymena United, Bangor Fuels Arena, 20th January 2018. Att: 507
Ballymena United 3-0 Ards, Ballymena Showgrounds, 28th November 2017. (Toals Co Antrim Shield SF)
Ballymena United (2-2) (3-2 aet) Ards, Ballymena Showgrounds, 15th November 2017. (BetMcLean League Cup QF)
Ballymena United 6-3 Ards, Ballymena Showgrounds, 14th October 2017. Att: 829
Ards remain rooted to the bottom of the table and have been impressive but they just can't seem to be able to put their chances away, as the Braidmen witnessed in the game in November, Mark Kelly firing wide when he really should've scored in the dying seconds. They'll be eager to put a halt to their run of poor results behind them and take 3 points home.
Ballymena United:
With a run of 16 games unbeaten in all competitions and 11 straight victories, they're the team to beat. United will need to keep up the same level of desire and commitment they've shown of late in order to stay at the top of the table over Christmas, and David Jeffrey still maintains his stance that our aim for the season is to finish in the top 4.
Boxing Day Tickets:
If you still need a ticket for Boxing Day, tickets are available for the Warden Street stand. Please click here for further details.

This is an incredibly important fixture for both sides, Ards struggling to make headway in their attempt to get off the bottom of the table and United aiming to stay on top over Christmas. Make your way to the Showgrounds and loud and proud in support of YOUR team - Come On Sky Blues!
