With a single defeat on the opening day of the season at home to Linfield and a draw at home to Glentoran in September, Glenavon go into this game on the back of 7 league wins, sitting a point ahead of Linfield on top of the league with a game in hand over the Belfast side.

They were knocked out of the BetMcLean League Cup at Mourneview Park in the 2nd round by Bluefin Sport Championship side Dergview in August, and they defeated Loughgall at home in the Mid-Ulster Cup on Tuesday evening.
Ballymena United:
After a challenging start to the season, playing away from home due to the relaying of the Showgrounds pitch, United are now unbeaten 7 games, and have conceded only a single goal in their past 6 home games. These results have helped the Sky Blues move up the table into third place, 9 points behind Linfield with a game in hand.

United are also in the quarter-finals of the BetMcLean League Cup, where they will face Ards at Bangor Fuels Arena, and will host Linfield in the semi-finals of the Toals Co Antrim Shield.

Unbeaten in seven games, the Braidmen go into this game with a great deal of confidence, but the Lurgan side always provide stiff opposition and, given their current form, will give us an incredibly tough game. Manager David Jeffrey has called for all supporters, young and old, to pull on their colours, arrive early and bring your flags to help make a sea of sky blue for the BBC Sport NI cameras. Make your way to the Showgrounds and be loud and proud in support of YOUR team - Come On Sky Blues!
