Harland & Wolff Welders:
It's been a decent start to the season for the Welders, winning 4 of their Bluefin Sport Championship ties, drawing 1, and losing 4, leaving them in 6th place in the league with 13 points.

They had their first attempt to make it through the second round of the BetMcLean League Cup abandoned in injury time due to a serious injury to Dan McMurray, who has since had surgery and is in recovery. The replay resulted in the Welders defeating Portstewart in a penalty shootout at the Coleraine Showgrounds.
Ballymena United:
After the relaying of the Ballymena Showgrounds pitch over the summer, the Sky Blues got their home campaign underway on Saturday with a resounding 3-0 victory over Newry City, goals coming from Leroy Millar, Cathair Friel and Andrew McGrory. This moved United back up into the top six, a single point behind Coleraine with a game in hand.

Ballymena United secured a berth in the third round of the BetMcLean League Cup thanks to a 5-1 win over Dollingstown at Dixon Park, and will also face the Welders at home next Tuesday night in the first round of the Toals Co Antrim Shield.
