BALLYMENA United travel to Seaview to face Danske Bank Premiership champions Crusaders on Saturday afternoon.
The sides met in the final league game of last season, Crusaders running out 2-1 winners with a late David Cushley goal securing the points, and the league title, in front of a crowd of 2430.

Crusaders started the season with a win on Monday night, defeating Ards 4-2 at home with goals from Michael Carvill, Rory Patterson, Jordan Forsythe and Declan Caddell.

The Braidmen also secured victory in their first game of the season, beating Dungannon Swifts 2-0 with a fine first half goal from Willie Faulkner after a sublime pass from Steven McCullough, and a second half penalty from Tony Kane after Ryan Mayse had been brought down in the box. The game was played front of 878 spectators, the biggest crowd recorded between the sides at Stangmore Park.

The last time the Sky Blues beat the Crues was in the penultimate league game of the 2016/17 season, United winning 3-0 with goals from Conor McCloskey and Cathair Friel (2). The last win against Crusaders at Seaview was in the quarter-final of the Toals Co Antrim Shield in October 2015, goals from David Cushley and Tony Kane sealing a 2-0 win which led, ultimately, to United lifting the Shield with a 3-2 win over Linfield in the final.
