Since the meeting in December, the Mallards have lost 5 league games, drawn 1 and, last Friday evening, defeated Cliftonville 6-4, although they still remain rooted to the bottom of the table.

They reached the sixth round of the Tennent's Irish Cup with a 4-2 home win over Immaculata at the start of January.
Ballymena United:
In the same timeframe, the Sky Blues have won 3 league games, drawn 2 and lost 2, coming from behind twice last Saturday to draw with champions Linfield at the Showgrounds. This came hot on the heels of a 4-2 home defeat to Crusaders in the final of this years Toals Co Antrim Shield. The Braidmen currently sit in 6th place in the league, 4 points ahead of Glentoran and 10 points behind Linfield.

A 4-0 home win with goals from Kyle Owens, Matthew Shevlin (2) and Tony Kane eased Ballymena united past Moyola Park in the fifth round of the Tennent's Irish Cup to set up the showdown against Ballinamallard.
