Since the last meeting Linfield have lost 2-0 away to Crusaders in the BetMcLean League Cup quarter-final. In the league they have beat Coleraine 2-1 at home, Glenavon 1-0 away, Dungannon Swifts 1-0 at home, drawn 3-3 with Warrenpoint Town at home, beat Cliftonville 2-0 at home and Carrick Rangers 1-0 away. They've lost 2-1 away to Glentoran, 2-1 away to Crusaders and, last weekend 3-2 to Glenavon at home. They've also defeated Glebe Rangers 5-0 at home in the Tennent's Irish Cup.

In the same period United have beaten Ards 3-2 (aet) in the BetMcLean League Cup at the Showgrounds. They also beat Ards 3-0 at home to reach the final of the Toals Co Antrim Shield, which they lost 4-2 to Crusaders in their last game on Tuesday night. In the league they've beat Dungannon Swifts 2-1 at home, lost 1-0 away to Cliftonville, beat Ballinamallard United 2-1 at home, Carrick Rangers 3-1 at home, lost 2-1 against Crusaders at Seaview, drew 1-1 with Coleraine away, beat Glenavon 3-1 at home, Carrick Rangers 3-0 at home and lost 1-0 to Ards away. They've also swept past Moyola Park with a 4-0 win in the fifth round of the Tennent's Irish Cup to set up a home tie against Ballinamallard United next weekend.

Despite last weekends defeat by Ards, Ballymena United remain in sixth place in the league, 9 points behind fifth placed Linfield and 3 points ahead of 7th placed Glentoran.
