Since the win over United in October Glenavon have won 6 of their league games, 5 of them away from home. They drew a home game against Coleraine and lost 2 at home to Crusaders and Linfield. Their last outing, on Boxing Day, seen them secure a 1-0 win over Warrenpoint Town at Mourneview Park thanks to a Rhys Marshall goal.

This leaves them in 3rd place in the table on 45 points, 10 behind leaders Coleraine with 2 games in hand.
Ballymena United:
In the same period the Braidmen have remained unbeaten at home, securing wins over Linfield, Dungannon Swifts, Ballinamallard United and Carrick Rangers. They've lost 2 games, both away from home to Cliftonville and Crusaders, and drawn at home to Warrenpoint Town, away to Glentoran and, on Boxing Day, they drew 1-1 with hosts Coleraine thanks to an Aaron Traynor own goal.

Now in 7th place in the Danske Bank Premiership, United sit a single point behind 6th placed Glentoran in what could be a nip-and-tuck battle that continues until the end of the season.

While United did get a 2-1 win over Glenavon at the Showgrounds in last seasons Europe League Play-Off final, we have to go back to March 2014 to find the last win over the Lurgan Blues in a normal league game. In recent weeks the Sky Blues have shown they're more than capable of beating the top teams, a narrow defeat to 2nd placed Crusaders and an impressive draw against league leaders Coleraine testament to this. It'll be an incredibly tough ask, with several key players out through injury, so get down to the Showgrounds on Saturday afternoon and be loud and proud in support of YOUR team - Come On Sky Blues!
