BALLYMENA United travel to Castledawson to take on Moyola Park in a friendly on Tuesday night.
The last time the sides met was in the 2nd round of the JBE League Cup in September 2015. The game finished 1-1 after 90 minutes with United eventually running out 4-1 winners after extra-time, that goals that evening coming from David Cushley, Matthew Shevlin (2) and Eoin Kane.

Last season Moyola Park finished 4th in the NIFL Premier Intermediate League just 4 points off the 2nd placed promotion play-off spot. They were knocked out of the Tennent's Irish Cup at the first round stage, losing 4-2 on penalties away to Rathfriland Rangers after drawing 3-3 after extra-time. They were also knocked out of the Northern Ireland League Cup in the first round, losing 3-1 to Institute, and away to Rathfern Rangers 2-1 in the first round of the Intermediate Cup. They fared somewhat better in the North West Craig Memorial Cup, beating Newtowne 7-1, Strabane Athletic 4-1 both away from home, before losing 1-0 to Limavady United at Mill Meadow.
Ballymena United:
Ballymena United got their first win of the pre-season last Tuesday night, defeating NAFL Premier League side Albert Foundry in Belfast 7-1 with a hat trick from Conor McCloskey and goals from Matthew Shevlin, Jim Ervin, Gary Thompson and Andrew Burns. They followed this up on Saturday afternoon with a 6-1 away win over Limavady United, goals coming from Kevin Braniff, Jim Ervin, Matthew Shevlin, Johnny McMurray, Gary Thompson and Tony Kane with a late penalty.
