BALLYMENA United face Glenavon at the Ballymena Showgrounds on Friday night in the Final of the Europa League Play-Offs.
22nd March 2014. A significant date going into the game. For anyone who doesn't remember, that was the last time Ballymena United managed to beat Glenavon in ANY competition, running out 2-1 winners at the Showgrounds. 5 players remain in the squad from that day - Jim Ervin, Tony Kane, Gavin Taggart, Allan Jenkins and Darren Henderson (who scored both goals).
There have been 11 games between the sides since then, Glenavon winning 9 and 2 ending in draws. In those games Glenavon have managed a total of 38 goals, while United have only scored 14.
The last game between the two ended in a 3-0 win for Glenavon at Mourneview Park, youngster Jordan Jenkins getting the first two goals and Greg Moorhouse sealing the victory.
Jordan Jenkins is congratulated after grabbing his second goal in the 3-0 defeat over United in April
