Carrick Rangers:
Carrick Rangers currently sit in 11th place in the league, 10 points ahead of Portadown, after winning only 2 and drawing 2 of their league games. The put in an impressive performance last Friday night, defeating Ballinamallard United 3-1 at Ferney Park, two goals coming from Tiarnan McNicholl and a penalty scored by Martin Murray.
Ballymena United:
The Braidmen are in 3rd place in the league, having won 8, drawn 3 and lost 4. In their last 3 league games they defeated Ballinamallard United 4-0 at home and Ards 2-1 away before losing 4-1 to Linfield at home last weekend in a much below par performance. Manager David Jeffrey has already moved on from that and will be looking to take maximum points from this game, but is expecting a massive battle against a side who are more organised and hard working since the win over them in August.
United in Remembrance:
A minute silence will be observed at the Ballymena Showgrounds on Saturday as, prior to the game against Carrick Rangers, the two teams, officials, and fans will stand silent.
