Newington YC Match Preview
Uploaded Monday, 29th Aug, 2016 at 12:29

BALLYMENA United host Newington YC in the second round of the Northern Ireland League Cup on Tuesday night.
The last time the two sides met was at the same stage of the League Cup two years ago, United running out 3-0 winners thanks to goals from Tony Kane, Darren Henderson and Matthew Tipton.
Newington YC:
Having been promoted to Belfast Telegraph Championship 2 for the 2013/14 season, Newington have remained there since. After the Championship restructuring over the summer, they still play at the same level, but it's now the NIFL Premier Intermediate League and they currently occupy the top spot, being one of only two sides to win their opening game, defeating Banbridge Town 2-0 away from home.
Ballymena United:
Having suffered a heavy defeat on the opening day of the season at the hands of Crusaders, United have bounced back with a draw, a defeat and two wins. Last Friday night United were in fine form as they ran out 4-1 winners over Carrick at Belfast Loughshore Arena.
Match Officials:
Referee: Tony Clarke. Assistant 1: Stephen Bell. Assistant 2: Joseph Wilson.
Match Information:
Admission is payable at the gate. We'd also like to remind supporters that Season Tickets, JSB Memberships and Youth Academy passes are not valid for this match.

Kick off is 7:45pm.
After a great win on Friday night, a similar display is almost certain to be enough to take us through to the third round. As always, your support would be greatly appreciated!
