HW Welders Match Preview
Uploaded Friday, 22nd Jul, 2016 at 19:50

BALLYMENA United will send a squad to Tillysburn Park to face Harland & Wolff Welders on Saturday afternoon.
The last time the sides faced each other was in a pre-season friendly last July, United came from behind to run out 2-1 winners thanks to a penalty from Matthew Tipton and a goal from Kyle McVey.
Team News:
As was the case last weekend, the squad will be split into two teams, with the other team facing Knockbreda at Breda Park. Manager David Jeffrey said "We are looking forward to taking two squads out again tomorrow as we build on our fitness and planning for the season ahead. Can I say I'm particularly looking forward to heading to Knockbreda for my first time there and meeting up with Raymond Bell. Also it's a return for Kyle Owens to his former club, and should be a good competitive game for us. At the Welders it's great to see Matthew Shevlin back in as well as a first run out for Daniel Wallace and a call up for young Adam McCracken. Unfortunately Leroy Millar, Denver Gage and Fra McCaffrey are carrying knocks and Michael Smith is on holidays so won't be involved tomorrow, but on a happier note we send our best wishes to Kyle and Shairee, the new Mr and Mrs McVey, who got married today. May they have a long and happy future together and enjoy their time away over the coming days."

The following players will be in the line-up against the Welders: -
  • Trialist GK
  • Chandler Douglas
  • Trialist A
  • Caolan Loughran
  • Daniel Wallace
  • Kyle Beggs
  • Tony Kane
  • Gavin Taggart

  • Cathair Friel
  • Matthew Shevlin
  • Jake McNeill
  • Trialist B
