First Score
Rodney McLaughlin was the First Score winner at Solitude on Saturday. A 25 minute penalty score saw Rodney collect £30, Rodney has been a previous winner but in another season so he can now win £60 at his next Irish League First Score. Hard luck to Mervyn Lynn who had a 26 minute card and Ballymena deserved more than they got on Saturday.
Walk of Hope
Brian Thompson completed his fifth Walk of Hope to Solitude on Saturday for Bravehearts NI. Re-commencing at 8.30 at Templepatrick on Saturday morning Brian, in freezing fog, completed his walk at around 12:30. There was excellent response along the route in Glengormley and Cliftonville had graciously allowed Brian and Bravehearts volunteers, Jennifer and Maureen, to take up a collection at the ground. However Brian's successful 5th Walk of Hope, he intends to walk to every Irish Premier league ground, may have been costly. Along the Antrim Road he began to have problems with his Achilles tendon which saw him limping very badly on Sunday. His next Walk of Hope to the Oval on December 10th may now sadly be in doubt.
Christmas Draw
Tickets are distributed for this years Christmas Draw on Boxing Day. A 500L delivery of home heating oil is the first prize in a star studded collection of prizes.
