MANAGER David Jeffrey and Assistant Bryan McLoughlin presided over the re-signing of Ballymena United Youth Academy's 2004 team and Foyle Cup captain Timmy McClure, who signed for the club for the forthcoming National League campaign.
Whilst other clubs sought his signature Timmy decided that he wanted to continue his development at his hometown club.

Manager David Jeffrey expressed his delight, "we said from the start that our vision is for young Ballymena men to be winning trophies in the Ballymena shirt in front of the Ballymena supporters. We are building for the future here at the Showgrounds and no-where is that more important than investing in the young players in the Youth Academy. We are putting in our time and support, also through the appointment of Damian Curran, to develop a pathway for children from the age of 6 right up into the senior team.
Young Timothy epitomises that as he is an exciting and a tremendous prospect. Other clubs wanted to sign him but he and his family can see what we are doing here and, as a young Ballymena man, he is excited to be a part of that.
I make a promise to Timothy and all Youth Academy players - we WILL know the best players coming up through the age groups and we WILL be kept updated on their development - even turning up to watch them play when time permits. This is a new era for our club and right from first team down to U6 we will strive to have the best young players who will be proud to wear sky blue.
Very well done to John Anderson, David Douglas and the whole youth academy for the work they are doing to ensure that young local players will get the very best standards of coaching here at Ballymena."
