Declan Carville Released by Mutual Consent

BALLYMENA United can confirm that midfielder Declan Carville has been released by mutual consent.
Declan was signed on a pre contract from Newry City joining the Sky Blues in the summer of 2019 and went on to make 26 appearances.
Manager David Jeffrey explained the reasoning behind the decision to jointly agree his release: -
"I was contacted by Declan on Monday evening after he had thought on his position over the weekend. Due to increasing work commitments and with the travel involved, Declan was finding it more and more difficult to give his everything to Ballymena United.
Last Thursday evening Declan get held up by work and was unable to make training. Declan is an honest guy and knew the logistics were just getting too difficult. With Declan and Niamh expecting their first child, with the work and travel commitments, he asked for his release to which I have reluctantly agreed.
Declan was signed as a midfielder enforcer and nobody will forget his magnificent performances in our summer European campaign. Team was always the first thing for Declan and nothing epitomised this more than his volunteering to do goals in our recent game at the Oval. We are only playing in the Irish Cup this weekend thanks to his great showing in the second half against Crumlin Star, scoring and making a goal.
Declan said that he was very grateful to Bryan and I to have the opportunity to play at Ballymena United and has really enjoyed his time with his team mates. The dressing room was in shock when I broke the news of his release this evening. He is extremely popular as a player and person throughout the Club.
Declan will always be welcome back at Warden Street. In Ballymena he has friends and family for life."
