BALLYMENA United are delighted to announce the signing of 27-year-old forward Aaron Burns, who is cleared to join twin brother Andrew in the Sky Blues squad immediately ahead of Friday's clash away to Carrick Rangers.
Burns worked under David Jeffrey during two spells at Linfield where he scored 91 goals in 273 appearances, and his former manager moved quickly to recruit his services following his release from Coleraine last week.

Manager David Jeffrey was beaming to bring Burns to the club, "Since the age of 16 we've known him and watched him developing. Back then he was a feisty left back but was never pigeon holed into that position as he developed. He most effectively contributed during his spells at Linfield, before going to Coleraine where he also made a significant contribution. Sometimes circumstances give opportunities elsewhere and this happened for us, and when we knew he was available we naturally wanted to speak to him. The most delightful thing for Bryan and I has been his attitude throughout the talks. He is nothing short of a pro and what has been most pleasing has been his commitment to join us and become a part of what we want to do going forward. To say I'm pleased is an understatement."
Burns added, "When the opportunity arose to re-join David and Bryan, who doesn't want to play for the best management team in the country? The chance to play again with Andrew and to play and compete for trophies were obviously big too. The set up at the Showgrounds, the young squad and current success are all attractions and I want to be in there contributing to that success."
Burns will take squad number 25 this season.
