AS A very successful season draws to a close, Sports Bond continues through the summer. On Saturday a group of Sports Bond agents sponsored the match with Crusaders.
In their weekly draw there was more success for the Seven Towers agency of Tommy Patterson, Angela Brown (A9923) was a £50 major winner on his agency, Tommy (A0149) was also a £10 minor winner himself. Denise Graffin (A0158) out in Craigywarren was our second lady member winner this week on the agency of P Thompson and in Portglenone Margaret Downey had a new winner with Jack Nelson (A3631).

Maurice Anderson had two minor £10 winners with Barbara Gillespie (A6226) and Mervyn Turtle (A8297). Barbara is from Galgorm and Mervyn is from Ahoghill, last week Maurice had three £10 winners and this week he had two, quite a feat!

No Jackpot was allocated with the numbers 4, 10, 18 and 28 and the Jackpot is £600 for this week.
Grand Sports Draw
The winner of the Grand Sports Draw was a real Sky Blue supporter and Chairman of the Spirit of '89 Supporters Club Davy McCaig (1757), so in September or October Davy and wife Linda are off to Paris to see PSG play thanks to the generosity of Jonathan Calderwood. Davy had purchased 5 tickets in own name and remarkably he also won a pair of tickets for Down Royal, however Davy is "over the moon" with the thought of the trip to Paris. Davy is a life long Sky Blue supporter who is also doing sterling work with the Spirit of '89 in raising funds for the club.
Thanks to Margaret Downey, Sports Bond agent, who sold the winning ticket for second prize to Ivan Campbell (1325) of Ballymoney, Ivan won the golf four ball at Cairndhu. Chelsea Morrow of Glenarm has always wanted to see Northern Ireland play and now she will as she won the tickets to see Northern Ireland next season in a friendly. Chelsea was one of four lady winners with Margaret Rose Speer, Nicola Galbraith and Jacqueline Elliott also winning.

  • Brian Thompson was delighted with this year's draw. He commented that "the Grand Sports Draw still captures the imagination. This year we had a few technical problems in printing and so had a shorter selling time but once again the Ballymena supporters, Sports Bond agents were superb in their support and remarkable we had one of our best ever draws. Congratulations to Davy McCaig but a huge thank you to all sold ballot tickets".
