BALLYMENA United are delighted to announce that Ross Glendinning has signed a two-year extension to this current contract.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper made his competitive debut in August 2016 in a 3-3 draw against Glenavon, and has since amassed 90 appearances for the Sky Blues, picking up a League Cup winners medal on the way.

Manager David Jeffrey was understandably happy that another key member of the squad sorted out his future with the club, "we are absolutely delighted that Ross has agreed a two-year extension. Bryan and I gave him his debut what feels like a long time ago and his progress and development has been steady since. I have to pay great tribute and a thank you to Alan Simpson (goalkeeping coach) who works hard with Ross, not just in house but also away from training nights. He's a young man still coming into his prime and he came here sharing our vision and has applied himself very well - that is reflected in the quality of his performances over the course of the season. I have to stress that in this game you have to earn contracts and, even more so, extensions. Ross is the second player in a matter of days who has done just that simply through performance and application both on the pitch and off the pitch."
Glendinning was pleased to be able to look ahead to the next few seasons, "obviously I'm delighted, it's a privilege to sign for Ballymena United. I spoke to David late last week and it didn't take me long to decide. We had a chat at home and it wasn't a hard decision to walk in today and tell David of my desire to stay. Who wouldn't want to be a part of this, when you look out there today at the scenes and although I couldn't be part of it on the pitch due to injury we're all still there together as part of this squad. We're going in the right direction and we knew from pre-season that we were going to be a challenge to play against in this league.
People talk about goalkeepers and defenders in terms of clean sheets or goals conceded, but it's to do with the whole team not just the back 4 or 5. A strong defence comes from all over the pitch and when you look up into the midfield including the likes of Leroy, who's also just signed his extension, you can see we are better and the defence reap the rewards for that - when you look at the goals against column, we're as good as anyone in the league."
Alan Simpson is the man who works most closely with Glendinning and was glowing about the keeper's work this season, "Ross is probably one of the best in the league at the minute. He'll say clean sheets aren't down to him, but I'll tell you he's instrumental in them and to achieve that he's worked very hard from last season and we can see it in his game the way he's been playing. We've a great camp of good young goalkeepers coming through so everything is looking bright, and we're continually asking them for improvement, but when you look that Ross has 8 clean sheets already, that is phenomenal for this time of the season."
