"We're very much looking forward to a long anticipated return to the Showgrounds on Saturday with the work on the pitch complete and a surface now that complements the top class facilities already here at Ballymena United.
Coming out of training this evening we want to keep supporters up to date with player availability ahead of our return to the Showgrounds."
Jonathan Addis
"We can confirm he has a hamstring strain as opposed to a pull - he thinks it was sustained during his acrobatic bicycle kick at Windsor Park. He could be out for up to 4 weeks but we're hoping that his recovery will be sooner than that."
Andrew Burns
"Johnny's loss is compounded by Andrew's unavailability. As we know he served his suspension following the dismissal against Glenavon. He has worked tremendously hard to get back in contention and played last night for the U20 development team. Unfortunately he tweaked his hamstring and in consultation with physiotherapist Gary Crosbie and Andrew, we've decided not to risk him this Saturday."
Matthew Shevlin
"Great news that Matthew returned to light training this evening which is very encouraging. There'll be no training that could involve contact for a time yet, but given his run of bad fortune it is good to see him now back on track."
Shane McGinty
"Shane was up at the Showgrounds this evening and we can only report that progress is as expected given the seriousness of the injury. We are ensuring that he is getting best treatment for this and that we are getting best specialist guidance to get him back to full fitness."
Connor Farrelly
"We are very excited about Connor's talent and the hard work he has put in since joining. His high work rate and the readings from the GPS system during last night's U20's match was as such that to play again on Saturday wouldn't be wise."
Saturday v Newry City
"We know only too well how tough this is going to be on Saturday. We have had them watched several times, and personally I've been down during our few weeks break in the season, and we know they will provide formidable opposition. They are well organised, work tirelessly for each other, have lots of talent and come Saturday we know this will be a tough challenge - our players will need to be at their best.
I have previously stated that we have consistently enjoyed an unbelievable support on our travels this season - but there's no place like home. On Saturday we know there will be, and look forward to hearing, an incredible welcome back to the Showgrounds - and the players will be going out fired up to match that passion and desire on the pitch."
