Sports Bond Success for Billy
Uploaded Monday, 13th Aug, 2018 at 12:38

THERE is an opera called The Barber of Seville, however in Sports Bond we have our very own Barber of Harryville, Mr Billy McCartney (A1192) was a well known barber for many years.
He and his family have been Sports Bond members for many years and we were delighted this senior citizen was a £50 major winner this week. This weeks results were dominated by the agencies of P Thompson and Maurice Anderson. Thomas Gordon (A8745) of Broughshane was a £50 winner and is a previous multiple winner while Maurice had a £50 winner with Joan Rock (A1747) who was a £10 winner a few weeks ago. His £10 winner was Mary Herron (A8164), Sky Blue David Oliver (A4428) was a £10 winner and in Kells Ann Service (C9170) was a £10 winner on the agency of Andrew Boyd.

The Jackpot continues to rise with numbers 8, 13, 17 and 25 not allocated.
First Score
One of Ballymena United's staunchest supporters, Melvin Carleton, was the First Score winner at Seaview on Saturday. Melvin is a First Score regular and the Chairman of the Ballymoney, Rasharkin and Finvoy Supporters Club and he had the correct 13 minute (12mins 13secs) winning card. Melvin picked up £30 and knows £60 awaits him if he wins again this season. Next First Score will be at Clandeboye Road, Bangor on Saturday.
Agent News
Love is in the air for Sports Bond agents this August. Up in Cloughmills Sports Bond agent Robert Logan got hitched and we extend best wishes to Robert and his wife who are now on honeymoon.
Congratulations to Sports Bond member Mary McKeeman and husband who celebrate 50 golden years married on 17th August. Mrs McKeeman was once a £1000 Jackpot winner but Mr McKeeman reckons he won the Jackpot when he married Mary. All the family are homeward bound for a great family celebration.
We are known as a nation of pet lovers so it is with heartfelt sympathy that we mention the passing of Oscar, the pet dog of Maurice and Pamela Anderson. It is a very difficult time after the passing of Goliath, their other dog, only 3 months ago, both were members on Maurice's agency.
Direct Canvassing
Last week direct canvassing was in Mount Hilary on the Glebe Road. Two new members were recorded, Betty Russell and Jim Archer. Now Jim has been a lifelong Ballymena supporter and was anxiously awaiting a call after the leaflet dropped in. He can recite teams of yesteryear so we are delighted that he has now a link with the club.
