THE Chairman and Board of Directors of Ballymena United Football Club are absolutely delighted to announce that manager David Jeffrey has signed a 2-year extension to his current contract, taking him up to the end of season 2020/21.
Jeffrey has signalled his intentions for the coming seasons with a number of signings to create a new look squad. United's manager, who to date has secured Ballymena United's first major trophy in 28 years and back to back top six finishes, including Europa League qualification, was in no doubt about his and his backroom team's commitment to take the Sky Blues forward.

"To the chairman, vice chair and the board of directors, I want to thank you very much for the appreciation, respect and belief you have shown to Bryan and I by extending our contracts even with a year still to run. Bryan and I are highly self-motivated with regards to our work and efforts to bring more success to Ballymena United, but to have this tangible encouragement from the club is a most welcome experience for us.
In our time here to date we have seen some success, however, we have always said that we are here to waken the sleeping giant and we aim to do just that. Our job wouldn't be half as possible to do without the backing of the supporters. What we have experienced over the past two seasons has been nothing short of phenomenal. Often described as a roller coaster, what has never dipped has been the backing from the stands at all times, and we want to reward that commitment."
Chairman John Taggart was very pleased to be able to agree the contract extension ahead of the football club's AGM at the Showgrounds, "I am delighted that David has committed himself to Ballymena United for a further 3 years from this date. David and Bryan are a top team, completely self-motivated and driven to obtain success for the club. Already we have witnessed how a successful manager brings success, and I have full confidence in David and his backroom team to continue to breed that success over the next few seasons."
