Jim Ervin extends contract

BALLYMENA United are very pleased to be able to announce that club captain Jim Ervin has put pen to paper on a one year contract extension.
Having signed in January 2014, and scoring on his full debut against Dungannon, Ervin has amassed 164 appearances and took over the captaincy from Allan Jenkins for the 2015/16 season.
Manager David Jeffrey was understandably pleased with today's news, "to say pleased is an understatement, we are beyond delighted to be able to say that Jim will be staying. We've worked with him for quite a number of years and both Bryan and I agree that he's played some of the best football in his career during our time here at the club.
I don't need to express what Ballymena United means to Jim and he to Ballymena United, the supporters, players and the staff. But he won't mind me saying that negotiation on the new deal took around 30 seconds - that's a small measure on his desire to be here.
At all times we need our senior players to lead the team in terms of performance and attitude, not just on the pitch but also in the changing room and during training. Jim Ervin is the epitome of a leader amongst men."
