Daniel McIlhatton leaves Ballymena United

Ballymena United announce that midfielder Daniel McIlhatton has left the club.
Manager David Jeffrey thanked Daniel for his time here, "Daniel first came to our attention when we played against Moyola in pre-season and he really impressed. We offered him the opportunity to step up and he gladly took it up.
He started with us by carrying over a suspension, but quickly found himself in and amongst the first team squad, and got some involvement on match days. Unfortunately he developed nasal difficulties and had to go for surgery which saw him out for 6-8 weeks and then was out for another period when getting married.
Daniel then approached Bryan and myself to say he felt he didn't want to be taking wages under false pretences and asked for his release. We spoke to him and gave him time to consider but felt he preferred to go back and play for Moyola, and we respect his decision.
We want to thank Daniel and wish him all the best for the future."
