BALLYMENA United players and staff have decided that they wanted to pick a worthy cause to raise awareness and donations towards during the Christmas period.
After discussion it was decided to support the charity chosen as recipients of the Annual Carol Service collection, Addiction NI.
Manager David Jeffrey called on supporters to help the team to help the charity, "as much as we look forward to the fun and togetherness this time of year, the Christmas period is as much a time for reflection and looking out for others. As a group the squad decided that we wanted to promote a charity and their work over the Christmas period and I want to encourage supporters to do the same.
At tomorrow night's carol service directly after the match there will be a collection for Addiction NI and we ask supporters to come along and join the staff and players at the carol service and to donate to this worthy cause.
Many supporters will have read or heard of former Sky Blue, and current Glenavon assistant, Paul Millar's family circumstances in relation to addiction. Paul has been a very strong advocate for awareness, support and services for those struggling with this in their lives and so it is very fitting that we play Glenavon in a couple of weeks, just before the turn of the year. That day we will stand not only with Paul and his family, but with every person and family member affected by addiction in Northern Ireland."
