DAVID Jeffrey thanked those who helped clear the pitch and made sure the game was able to go ahead today
"I want to pay a big appreciation to those who volunteered today to ensure that the match went ahead. It was a tough day, on a tough pitch, but our second half performance merited the three points this afternoon. The victory, however, was only in the context of the effort from the family of supporters that we have here.
This is a club that has an attitude of togetherness, everybody played their part today and the three points were won by more than just the players. Going to Linfield next week, it was imperative that we avoided a third league defeat on the bounce and the buzz and energy from today's victory was only possible due to the unseen work across the hours before kick off.
I don't know everyone that helped, but you all have my sincerest gratitude, and I want to thank Jonathan Irwin and Iain Black for being down early and co-ordinating the effort on behalf of the club.
We have a sign in the changing room that says 'look after those who look after you'. That extends beyond the players on the pitch - the board, staff, players and supporters - we look after each other and we move forward together, as a team, United."
